Features

  • New

    Speak a thought into Markdown.

    On iPhone, touch and hold the Home create button and choose Voice Capture. Raven transcribes on the device, lets you review the text and choose Save To, then stores the result as Markdown.

  • New

    Find Raven notes from Spotlight.

    Open Spotlight on iPhone, iPad, or Mac and search for a note title or a few words from its contents to jump straight into Raven. Search inside the app also stays responsive in large vaults.

  • New

    Turn a Markdown task into a reminder.

    In Tasks, long-press or right-click a checkbox, choose Set Due Date, then pick Set Due Date… and Add Time. Raven can notify you on the device, while completing or snoozing the alert keeps Markdown as the source of truth.

  • New

    Paste a link. Keep the plain URL.

    Paste a standalone URL and choose Rich Preview to show its title, description, and image. The note still stores only the plain URL, and you can make this the default in Settings under Writing and Link Appearance.

  • Widgets open the exact place you chose.

    Long-press or right-click a Raven widget and choose Edit Widget to point it at a note, folder, Journal period, or task view. Tapping it takes you there instead of dropping you at the front door.

  • Read Later is a proper queue.

    Share a link to Raven and tap Save for Later. It lands as a dated note in the Read Later folder under Notes, ready to review or edit like any other Markdown file.

  • Quick notes stay the same wherever you open them.

    Raven uses one Quick note per day across capture, search, Spotlight, Voice Capture, and the Mac menu bar. In Settings on Mac, open Quick thoughts and use Save To to choose Quick notes or Daily Journal.

  • Task boards stay usable while you type.

    On iPhone, List and Board keep the active task above the keyboard, with due date and board controls close by. Changing task metadata no longer drops a title draft.

  • Empty folders explain what comes next.

    When Quick notes or Read Later is empty, Raven shows how that folder fills instead of leaving a blank screen.

  • Fold away the sections you are not using.

    Use the control beside a heading to collapse a section in a long note, then open it again without losing your place.

  • See Markdown formatting as you write.

    Formatting stays clearer as you write and edit a note.

  • Captures wait until the file is safe.

    Share and capture flows acknowledge the item after Raven has saved it locally.

    Mermaid diagrams render inside the editor.

    Start a fenced code block with mermaid and write the diagram inside. Raven shows a safe local preview, and placing the cursor inside brings back the original fenced Markdown for editing.

    Images travel with the vault.

    Paste or drop an image into a note, or choose Insert Image from the More menu. Raven keeps attachments in a managed vault folder and carries them through sync.

    Resume suggestions and steadier note opening make it easier to return to a long document without hunting for your place.

    In Settings on Mac, open Raven Automation, choose Access, select a client, and choose Set Up. Claude, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP clients can then get permissioned access to read or edit the Markdown in your vault.

    The Share Sheet became an inbox.

    From any app, choose Raven from the Share Sheet to send text or links from iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Open Raven to review the capture and choose its destination before it changes anything in your vault.

    Templates and Inbox.md give capture a destination.

    Reuse note and Journal templates, and send quick ideas to a plain Markdown inbox until you are ready to sort them.

    Dark Mode came to iPhone.

    In Settings, open Appearance, choose Theme, then pick System or Dark. The app and editor now change together, with appearance controls that stay consistent across the interface.
